The Sixray Corydoras is a very small, gentle freshwater catfish. It is also called the “false corydoras.” Its body is pale or creamy with many tiny dark spots and chevron-like patterns along its sides. Its look and calm nature make it a special choice for aquarium lovers.

Origin

  1. Found in South America, especially in the Araguaia River basin in central Brazil.
  2. Lives in slow-moving streams and creeks with clean and clear water.
  3. The fish was first described by Weitzman and Nijssen in 1970.

You can treat it by raising the water temperature slightly (within a safe range) and using safe aquarium medicine. Keep infected fish away from others until they recover.

Fungus looks like white cottony patches on skin or fins. It can start if the water is dirty or the fish is injured. The best way to help is to keep water very clean, use antifungal medicine, and remove affected fish or eggs if needed.
