While proteins and fats are paramount, carbohydrates, from sources like pumpkin, brown rice, or sweet potato, can provide sustained energy for their active lifestyles.

1. Essential amino acids like taurine and arginine are vital for heart, vision, and reproductive health, as cats cannot synthesize them naturally.
2. Essential fatty acids, especially omega-3s from salmon oil or sardines, help maintain a lustrous coat, support joint health, and have anti-inflammatory benefits.
3. A well-rounded diet must also include vitamins (A, D, E, B-complex) and minerals (calcium, phosphorus, magnesium) to maintain immune strength, bone density, and metabolic balance.
4. Dietary fiber from sources like beet pulp or pumpkin aids digestion, reduces hairball formation, and keeps bowel movements regular.
