Stress-Free Travel: Mumbai Airport's ‘Pawfect’ Team of Therapy Dogs Welcomes Passengers

Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has reintroduced its popular "Pawfect" initiative, featuring a team of nine specially trained support dogs who will greet and interact with travelers in Terminal 2 every weekend. Running from Friday afternoon to Sunday night, these dogs, including breeds like golden retrievers, a Maltese, a rescued husky, a Shih Tzu, a Lhasa Apso, and a labrador, provide emotional support and reduce travel anxiety.

Originally launched before the pandemic, the initiative was designed to create a welcoming environment and ease the stress of air travel. According to an airport spokesperson, the "Pawfect" dogs are trained to detect and respond to human emotions, offering passengers an opportunity to relax and feel comforted before their flights. Mumbai Airport, the first in India to implement such a program, continues to share updates on social media, with recent posts highlighting the heartwarming interaction between travelers and these “furry ambassadors of happiness.”

In addition to improving the overall travel experience, the airport aims to foster a sense of joy and well-being, making Mumbai Airport’s Terminal 2 a unique “Gateway to Goodness” for departing passengers.
