Introduction to the Cymric

The Cymric (KIM-rick) is a variant of the Manx cat in long-haired form. Though its name sounds Welsh, it actually comes from the Isle of Man.

The tailless mutation began as a natural mutation and was transferred throughout the cat population on the island. So long-haired as kittens became unnatural long enough, but by the 1960s, breeders in Canada started to take an interest in producing them as a specific breed- Cymric.

The average lifespan of a Cymric cat is between 12 to 15 years and can even extend to more years with good care.

  2. Playful and intelligent
