1. What is your story as a dog breeder?

My journey as a breeder began about 15–16 years ago. Despite a background in engineering and IT, I found my true calling in breeding. It started as a hobby, but my passion led me to transition into a full-time breeder.

2. Why did you choose beagles?

Interestingly, it was my sister who initially gravitated towards beagles. Being fond of Dobermans, I found them too large and aggressive for my space constraints. My sister's observation of a charming beagle at a dog show sparked our interest. Soon after, a friend entrusted us with a beagle litter, and we welcomed one into our home. From there, our journey with beagles began.

3. What is the most fulfilling part of your job, and why do you like dog breeding?

Dog breeding is both challenging and rewarding. I've always had a deep affinity for animals, and breeding allows me to combine this passion with my love for nurturing. Breeding exceptional dogs isn't easy, but the satisfaction of producing quality specimens keeps me driven.

For anyone venturing into dog breeding, patience is key. Dedicate time to learn the basics of kennel keeping, dog maintenance, nutrition, and genetics. Understanding the lineage and pedigree of your chosen breed is crucial for producing quality dogs. Remember, breeding good dogs takes time, dedication, and a deep understanding of the breed.

The most rewarding feedback comes from pet parents who maintain a lasting connection. Knowing that my pups have become cherished family members brings immense joy. It's not just about selling; it's about fostering lifelong bonds with both the pets and their owners.

7. How did you get the name of your kennel?

I got the Ambrosia prefix after my sister brought home a beagle puppy from a friend's litter. Initially, I was unfamiliar with beagle standards, but her spirited personality caught my attention. Inspired, I delved into research, honing my understanding of the breed's characteristics and show standards. Through diligent training, she excelled in shows, elevating both her and me to recognition in Bihar. When she retired to begin her own litter, my sister and I decided to establish a kennel prefix as a tribute to her. We chose "Ambrosia," signifying divine quality. Despite my sister's limited involvement, her support was invaluable, leading us to become joint owners of the prefix. All my beagles trace back to her lineage, with males sourced internationally and nationally, while the females remain from the same bloodline.

8. How many dogs do you have?

Currently, I care for around 25 dogs. At the kennel, we have 21 beagles, while an additional 3 reside at my home. Each dog holds a special place in my heart and contributes to the legacy of Ambrosia Kennels.
