What began as an informational platform soon grew into a full-fledged rescue and rehabilitation initiative. By 2012, VOSD had evolved into India’s largest dog rescue organization, offering shelter, medical care, and permanent homes to thousands of abandoned, abused, and injured dogs.

Today, VOSD operates a sprawling seven-acre sanctuary near Bangalore, housing over 1,700 dogs. This no-kill facility is more than a shelter; it is a haven where dogs can live out their lives in safety and comfort. The sanctuary also includes India’s largest specialized referral hospital for dogs, providing advanced treatments and veterinary care. Over the years, VOSD has conducted more than 200,000 medical procedures, a testament to its comprehensive approach to animal welfare.
